This section contains the online modules that need to be completed before the Foundations of Communications face-to-face training.
This module will provide a video overview of social media platforms, primarily Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Learn how to create a professionally and appropriately branded social media presence and how to create effective and engaging content for each of these channels. Content will include examples for both Extension county offices and specialists.
This training is for those who are actively using social media and are ready to take it to the next level. Learn more about interpreting analytics and how to report that data to (hopefully) see how much your audience, engagement and reach grows over time. We’ll learn about using these results to plan for future success by determining what types of posts perform at a high level and what types of posts are lacking engagement by channel and audience.
Extension faculty write numbered publications to offer the public no- or low-cost, peer-reviewed information that centers on university research. In this session, we'll walk through the online submission process, peer review requirements, and each publication type. The session will also explain how the production process works, including best practices and guidelines for authoring new manuscripts.
In this module, we'll review best practices for formatting publication submissions and selecting photos. We will discuss how to effectively use free online photo sources, how to incorporate academic sources, and proper image citation. The session will also cover ideal photo resolution and how to determine whether your pictures are large enough.
